What is Zapilio?
Zapilio is a new AI platform that helps companies shortlist the best candidates through skill based assessments. They aimed to reduce the time taken to shortlist eligible candidates to 30 minutes. The primary users for this platform were hiring managers and talent acquisition firms. Their first product, HireZap was aimed towards this user base. They also had a concept for a product for candidates called SkillZap, that would help them up skill through knowledge based assessments.
The Challenge :
A tale of two products
Hiring usually takes a long time and is prone to biases and errors. As a result, a company can lose out on the best candidates, waste precious company time and resources. This happens because screening through hundreds and sometimes thousands of applications take time. And so does, coordinating and arranging different interviews for different cadidates.
Zaplio wanted to solves this issue with their product, HireZap. HireZap provides readymade assessment templates different roles which can be filtered out by experiene and industry. It can also read a CV and create a assessment based on it to assess all candidates on skillsets. Our goal was to imagine the platform in a way that users can create or find the required assessments in a few minutes and share it with the candidates at scale.
The scope later expanded to include the SkillZap platform aimed at employees to constantly upskill. Our challenge with this platform was to find a way to nudge the user constantly learn and upskill. There was an expectation to include gamification into this platform.
Solution
We went through months of research by talking different hiring managers and talent acquisition managers to understand how they hire. We also did benchmarking on other hiring platforms and upskill platforms to understand the workflow. Our goal was to improve on the existing and get the users a better product while reducing precious time and mental energy requird to create and share assessments.
Our solution for HireZap was a platform that gives the users two ways to create an assessment.
• The first method is to search for an existing template, set the experience level and assessment time
• The second method is to upload a CV or paste the linkedIn profile of an ideal candidate, which will in return churn out a assessment to assess similarly elligible candidates.
The users can can share this assessment through sharing a link or sharing the assessment through E-mail at scale. The candidates can open the assessment page and take test. Once submitted, the manager can view the results in the form of dashboard, which the user can user to filter out the best candidates for hiring.
